Rajinikanth celebrated his 59th birthday yesterday. The superstar who is always very modest has requested his fans not to celebrate his birthday as to mourn the killings of Tamils in Srilanka and the Mumbai massacre.He was in Hyderabad shooting for the animation film- Sultan the warrior for his daughter Soundarya.
The actor was born in 1949 at Nocchikuppam, near Krishnagiri. Later his family moved to Bangalore. They shifted back to Chennai and soon young Rajini entered Kollywood, attained stardom and rest is history. Rajini's debutant film was 'Apporva Raagam'. He has starred in 154 films in various languages and most were super hits.His last film was 'Kuselan' which although did not do well in domestic, made a record overseas.
Rajini also played an important role in Tamilnadu politics. His debut in politics is eagerly expected by the people of Tamilnadu for over years. But the actor has taken a spiritual outlook in the recent years. He has always been a follower of Lord Ragavendra from his early years.
